Parliament Approves the Loan Agreement of Rural Areas' Electricity and the Project of Socotra Port.

 Parliament continued on Thursday's session discussing the Committees' reports of the loan agreement of Socotra Port project that signed between Yemen and Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic   Development (KFAED) and the soft loan agreement of the contribution in rural areas' electricity project that signed between Yemen and French Agency for Development worth 37,500,000 Euro. Parliament also discussed the Finance Committee's report of the new law of customs of income. MP Abdul Moaez Dobwan referred to that the most of the Parliamentary Committees recommend to the necessary of the Quarterly report of the performance of these projects but the government didn't respond to this request. He called to create a new method instead of these reports. He also explained the need of the rural electricity project asking the Ministry of Electricity to follow a strategy for this project especially in choosing the project's areas and avoiding the mediation. The speaker Yahya al-Raie asked the concerned authorities to implement these projects as soon as possible. He also asked the Ministry of Electricity to follow up the insolvent projects in all areas and to form field teams in order to complete the implementation of these projects. MP Sadeq al-Baa'dani asked the government to finance the important projects such as Socotra Port. "We should not depend on the foreign loan in financing such project" al-Baa'dani added. Minister of Electricity Saa'd al-Socotri said that the government and the Ministry are committed to submit the quarterly reports of electricity Projects' performance to the concerned Committees.

Parliament also discussed the Finance Committee's report of the new law of customs of income.
