Parliament today asked Oil and Minerals Committee to investigate the issue of the violations of gas sales. 42 MPs submitted this request to the Presidium asking the Committee to prepare a report about this issue.

MP Nageeb Ghanem referred to grave breaches in this subject. (172) million cubic meters of gas were exported that costs 2 billion USD but only 50 million were received till now while the company wants to increase the production quantities, he explained. He asked the Committee to prepare a report about these violations and submit it to Parliament.

In another subject, number of MPs referred to the media reports about the slaves in many Yemeni areas especially in Hajjah. Some MPs are accused to have slaves and serfs while we are 50 Years after the Yemeni revolution.

MP Muhammad Qoorah impugn these media reports. He said that these reports are unfounded. MP Abdulkareem Alaslami said that these slaves in Hajjah were released 50 years ago. They are now traders and preachers, he added. MP Abdulaziz Jubari and MP Abdulkareem Alaslami called to form a parliamentary committee to verify this issue. These reports distorting the image of Yemen abroad, they added.

It should be noted that Presidium didn't submit to Parliament the report about the results of the meeting between the Presidium and Saa'dah's Parliamentary Bloc with the Minister of Defense and the Minister of Interior on last Wednesday. The meeting was about the latest developments in Saa'dah governorate.
